Privacy Policy
How Family Budget handles your data.
Denis Svichkarev ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Family Budget mobile application (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how your information is handled when you use our Service.
The short version: Your financial data stays on your devices. We don't collect it, we don't see it, and we don't share it with anyone.
Data We Do Not Collect
Family Budget does not collect any personal data. We do not use analytics, tracking, advertising SDKs, or any third-party data collection services. There are no user accounts, no sign-ups, and no servers under our control storing your information.
Data Stored on Your Devices
All your financial data is stored locally on your device and, if you have iCloud enabled, synced privately via Apple's CloudKit framework. This includes:
- Account names, balances, and currencies
- Family member names, income, and tax information
- Monthly snapshots and budget records
- App settings and preferences
iCloud sync uses your personal Apple ID and is encrypted by Apple. We have no access to your iCloud data. You can disable iCloud sync at any time in your device settings.
Currency Exchange Rates
When you use multiple currencies, the app fetches exchange rates from a public API. Only currency codes are sent in these requests (e.g. "EUR", "USD"). No personal or financial data is transmitted.
Subscriptions
Family Budget offers in-app subscriptions managed entirely by Apple's App Store. All payment processing is handled by Apple. We never see or have access to your payment information, credit card details, or Apple ID. See Apple's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle purchases.
Third-Party Services
Family Budget does not integrate any third-party SDKs, analytics platforms, or advertising networks. The only external services used are:
- Apple CloudKit — for private iCloud sync between your own devices
- Currency rate API — for exchange rate data (no personal information sent)
- Apple StoreKit — for subscription management
Children's Privacy
Since we do not collect any personal data, there is no risk of collecting information from children. The app is safe for users of all ages.
Data Deletion
All local data is automatically deleted when you uninstall the app. iCloud data can be removed via your device's iCloud storage settings.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy if the app's data practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any modifications. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
